I’lbeamonkeysuncle First Winner for Uncle Denny
Thoroughbredtimes.com November 16, 2010
Uncle Denny's I’lbeamonkeysuncle broke sharply and led at
every point of call en route to a clear 3 length victory in a 5½-furlong
maiden special weight race on Tuesday at Portland Meadows, to become the
first career winner for Grade 3 winner Uncle Denny. The California-bred bay colt was bred by Larry and Suzanne Bollmann and is out of the winning High Brite mare Highly Affirmed. He covered the distance in 1:06.99 on a track rated as wet fast and is trained by Jim Fergason. Uncle Denny won four of ten starts, including the 2005 El Camino Real Derby (G3) at Bay Meadows Race Course, in three years on the track and earned $291,981. The eight-year-old In Excess (Ire) horse stands at Oak Hill Farm in Paso Robles, California. Uncle Denny has 22 two-year-olds in his first crop. |
